time indeed flies! refering back to my previous post, i was just talking about how i'm gonna commit as a programmer. Now, week 0 is over and i'm a Senior now. Seriously, the earth wouldn't stop rotating for you! though i really want the earth to just stop a little longer so that i can spend more time with the programmers! ):

This camp would be the most unforgettable one i guess. I've met awesome people and i felt my existence in that family. Thank you guys!

i believe this is not the end of us, but just the beginning! hope we guys can stay in touch always! <3 may we uphold the craziness! :D

WOAH. haven't been updating for a seriously long while.

well, basically i've been busy with school work as 2.2 is really tedious!

glad that it's over! :D after the semester, i've been commiting IITSC as a Programmer! (:

these days were really an awesome one for me!

as it's a whole new experience being a programmer!

i've learnt lots of stuff and definitely met a lot of wonderful people! :D

this holiday is definitely a packed one for me.

meet ups, tution sean teo, housechores at times, meetings, lazying.

hahaa.

havent been touching any school stuff this while. :X

honestly, i'm quite worried for year 3 arrival. ):

hopefully i can do well for my final year so that my year 1 and year 2's grade wouldn't be down the drain!

and. have been seriously considering about my future steps.

i would still want to be a teacher no matter how tedious it may be.

but before that, i would first pursue a degree.

pursue on what degree is the next big thing i really gotta decide properly!

HO WELL.

i really wish i can slow down the time now.

it's too fast seriously.

and my kear is offf to hong kong. ):

oh good morning! it's saturday. and unwanting to say, it's the last day of my staycation as well as the competition, as an official blogger. ): it's so fast so furious! normally when one finds time passes quickly, that means, he/she is truly enjoying him/herself!

thinking to day 0 when i was packing my stuff. i was so worried and was feeling super moodless as i've some instincts that, i'll prefer school than being here. because i don't know the others, other than Danial. and, it's Competition, something that i'm fear off! and not forgetting, I WILL MISS MY MUMMY! & MUTOU! in my mind, it's only OH NO OH NO OH NO! ): ): ):

but now, i can't bear to leave! i've met wonderful and cool people who're easy to get along. (other than being labeled as a princess and a bimbo) it's some kinda surprising that we can clique pretty well within this three short days. despite the fact that we're from different school majoring in different course. we eat together, we shoot together, we explore together, we discuss together, we debrief together, we watch movie together, we share experience together. i will say its fate that brought us together. and i'm glad and thankful to have met them! :D

and the competitions have definitely been an eye opener for me! i'm thankful to be given this chance to be an official blogger though my blog may not be formal and of very high standards. like what Joycelyn jiejie says: "I enjoyed reading your blog. You've got your cute style." though i hope i can be more mature. but ya. THANK YOU JOYCELYN JIEJIE for APPRECIATING MY ENTRIES! :DDD Moreover, i've learnt alot and reflected alot from the other bloggers. Their wonderful blog posts with wonderful entries, pictures, humours, philosophy. basically, all kinds! and though some of them may be humourous, when they come to work, they're really serious. I've met impressive bloggers! :D and i'm always inspired not only by the competitions, but by them too! :D

and yes. i'm blogging at my work space. last day i'll be sitting here. ):

i will miss 1708. though you've brought me little troubles here and there. but i still love you, 1708. remember, I'M YOUR FIRST STAY-ER! HAHA!

Visual merchandising! Is actually the course i wanted to take! ):

but due to my lousy cut off point. couldn't get it.

but yupps! VISUAL MERCHANDISING! :D

in TP, the course is called Apparel Design and Merchandising.

I think is somewhat the same. (:

anyway, yupps. went there yesterday, but didn't have much feel about

it cos all i could capture was them concentrating on their work. i think yesterday will be more on brainstorming and ideation. TODAY! i went there again. and it's really a SURPRISE FOR ME! (x they actually started preparing for their "final masterpiece" which is somewhat like a mini display stage. (:

happenly, i got to witness Jessie being interviewed! (:

she's sharing more about her masterpiece and her rationale of it.

after the interview, she's back continue-ing her masterpiece!

looking at the perseverance and the heart and soul they put in for this competition, I FEEL LIKE COMPETING ALSO!! it's kinda fun and i can see that they're really enjoying what they're doing. I'm sure no matter what the outcome is, they did their best and i'm sure they'll be proud of themselves as well as for the school! :DDD

ALSO! after impressed, i'm still super impressed with them. not only do they need to concentrate on their art piece, they still gotta face the media! the stress level, is not easy to manage. so i tink they're really awesome yo! :D and plus, people there with all sorts of camera shooting them, if it's me i will get somewhat irritated and couldn't get my attention focused. so,

anyways, i personally like this category.

because it's kinda part of my course! :D

and i like it the MOST! (:

cos first, you can use your own creativity!

and in design, there's no right and wrong answers! :D

and one question i have in mind is, how does the judge determine which is the best?

as in different people view things from different perspective.

and. we all individually have different taste.

so.. hmmmms...

i think the topic is to design a kit for a detal clinic. the kit includes a staff card, logo, signage, etc!

kinda cool yo!

and is like how is it possible to get inspired within such a short time?!

Competition: Caring

got a ring from mabel goh! HOHO! it's such a small world! she's here as an ambassador together with her classmate, xin rui. (:

she's from nursing course and hence, she's the ambassador for nursing! :D

went to look for her, my precious lovely ekia girlfriend. (sweet enough, mabel?) HAHAHA!

According to Mabel, the competition is held in batch, unlike the other competitions.

at that time, that was the 5th batch of competitors. (:

they're kinda in a scene mode (if i'm not wrong). they're kinda in a diabetic clinic scene... and yea. maybe i should ask mabel to submit a 5 pages essay and i will know more about how the competition run ya! ;D

anyway, let me tell you more about Caring. (this is based solely on the brochure)

We are aware that Singapore healthcare system is made up of both public and private healthcare institutions. There is a comprehensive range of residential and community based services that cater to the long term healthcare needs of Singaporeans. Therefore, the healthcare industry is at at important crossroads where it needs to start preparing the evolving needs of an ageing population. At the same time, the drive towards medical tourism will increase the demand for medical resources in Singapore. In order to meet these challenges, skilled healthcare professionals will be in great demand!

This skill, Caring, relates to the promotion of health; physical and psychosocial well-being; growth and development and rehabilitation of our population. Individualized care is assured through assesment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based activities to achieve improved outcomes. Therapeutic communication underpins the delivery of care and enhances client-carer interaction.

day 2, i poped by caring! as i mentioned yesterday about the way they compete, yupps. here's one of the scenario!

3-2-1! ACTION!

this part is when the nurse are trying to help the lady.

one of the nurse attending CPR to Mr Sam.

while the other one makes the phone call to the ambulance and keeps the lady calm.

witnessed the whole scenario. there're actually different scenes everyday and this is one of it!

i would say is a whole new experience. instead of a competition, sitting there, speaking or working, Caring, is a competition like a theater act.

erms. how to i put it?

not exactly act but ya. putting yourself in that real live scene.

i think its pretty challenging because you really gotta put yourself in the actual scene and its a life! no joking matter.

i think its the most happening competition! :D

and so far, i like this the best.

not that i do not like the others but, it's something different! :D

however, i think the competitions held beside them is quite poor thing uh.

cos the mic is kinda loud.

but with such circumstances and their concentration, i think it shouldn't be any major problem la ya? =x

but with the mic, the spectators actually understand what's happening better.

and definitely helped the judges to hear better!

anyway, good job nurses! i think you've heard it yourselves! the sounding applause for your performance. (:

though there're no representatives from TP, i still would like to wish them all the best in their competition tomorrow! it's the last day yo! :D

just think of it. without them, you wouldn't be here.

cos no nurses, doctors can't manage by themselves!

also, there wouldn't be caregivers when you're sick or when you've met with an incident/accident. so yeah! we gotta be thankful for them! :D

Competition: Electronics

when i first step in, the first competition that can be seen is Electronics. It's situated right in front of the door and at one corner, sitted my school mate. Ang Jieshun from Temasek Polytechnic. i was feeling so proud to see my fellow school mate there! (though i don't know him. but we're from the same family - TP!) so yupps! JIA YOU JIA YOU! :D

the first time we visited this place was just one plain indoor sports hall. but now, it's air-conditioned and partitioned for different competitions. The various competitions that are holding here are:

-Mechanical Engineering Design

-Mobile Robotics

-Visual Merchandising

COol uh. ONE INDOOR SPORTS HALL CAN HOLD SO MANY COMPETITIONS!

anyway, yupps. when i first step in, the serenity accompanied with all the stern focused emotions by the competitors, surrounded me with all the tensed up atoms. it is serious, and its a no joking matter. it's my first time coming to such a big national event. it's indeed an eye opener for me.

looking at their goals to achieve. their passion to strive. the very very best they're trying to put in. i believe, they'll really benefit and prove their efforts right!

saw quite a number of TP competitors. though i may not know some of them. but yupps. i feel so so so proud of them! :D

some competitions are held in teams while some are held individually. i thought those which are working in teams are really impressive. because there will be an additional criteria that they will need to work on and it's very important. that is -- TEAMWORK.

it's day 1 and i've seen their skill, their pride.

i've got my skills, and my pride. but there're more to work on still!

from what he said, it made me realised that education have brought a large impact into our lives.

a simple example will be a life story of a ite lecturer.

he wasn't any high scholar.

but, his primary school teacher keep motivating him, moulding him to who he is today.

(i stated this because me myself wasn't any high scholar too. until the day when my teachers did not give up on me, and yupps. i'm pretty successful today. but, not to the extend that i'm a lecturer yet. =x)

furthermore, we're actually quite fortunate to have these skills to be learnt in school today as this are something of our livelihood. simple things like cooking, nursing, hairstyling, etc.

because they are things that make up our life. we need them.

and actually, them makes up you and me (:

surprisingly, Sean's home early today! i thought he wanted to send me off. that's why he came back early. but CHEH~ leave home round 4 and off i head to choa chu kang college west ITE!

the journey was phew~ super super long and dreadful. but I MADE IT! and ya! i look like some runaway from home kid! 2 big bags! hees! :D

reached earlier, and the staff there were super friendly! :D after Danial came, went to Check In!

i will say that they did an awesome job as for a student! (x

what's more was there's a staff who showed us the way to our room and explained some details that we gotta take note! that is professional! andd she's easy going! (: *thumbbs up!

I'm the only girl having one room by myself. was kinda lucky. but lonely too ): oh wells~

i was so surprised that i got such big room! something that i wasn't expecting! :D

now i've got a hard time deciding which bed to sleep on! HAHA! and my room is the one that have got a balcony!

saw the chair and table? HOHO! i'm now sitting there with my legs crossed blogging! (:

there's even iron and ironing board for us to iron our clothes! (:

the toilet!! got long bath~ i tink i sound kinda suaku. but yeah! just dint expect such good amenities! (;

but thinking about the travel time from Pasir Ris to Choa Chu Kang,

i'm kinda like WOAH~ Sian half! but it's worth it la uh! :D

afterall, Singapore also not that huge nah eh. hees!

Are they Ready? Are they nervous? Are they confident?

Personally, i'm very impressed with their courage to take part in a competition that first, represent their school, followed by representing the country! *salutes!

it takes lots of confidence and courage to take up such competition.

why i will say this because, i've took part in an entrepreneur competition before. and my performance was real ugly! =x but that was during secondary school, when i was a councilor in the entreprenuer department. and till now, i'll have that fear of competing. so yeah~ i shall just be an ordinary student uh! :D

anyways, yea!

cos timetable got kinda screwed up!

first. we missed the flight. cos we did not make it to check in 2 hour in advance. we had no choice but to top up to catch another flight. unfortunately, flight to krabi for the two days were full. the only availability is to bangkok! so we've got no choice but to head there after paying $360 for top up. and we wasted the stay at resort hotel that we've paid $380 for 2 days in Krabi at Ao Nang. thank god that we've passed this obstacle and went flying safely to bangkok! not forgeting to thank ah roy and ah ron korkor for fetching us to and fro budget terminal and helping us to book a hotel at bangkok! or else, we may be sleeping on the streets! =s

when we reach Bangkok international airport its already 9 plus Singapore time. we met this airport officer, a super random guy who stopped us at the airport. to show us some promotion his company is offering. it's actually a half day "heritage" tour in Bangkok. we're kinda lucky to meet him! first, the half day package add more activities to our trip as it's kinda sudden to end up in Bangkok, so other than shopping, we've no other plans, tadah! we've got the heritage tour. and next, its cheap la. not forgetting, he's a super nice friendly guy! :D he even wrote our hotel address in thai so that the taxi driver can understand. oh mama! where to find such good service manns!

OFF TO CITIN PRATUNAM! my hotel! HAHA! below the hotel, it's SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING PARADISE!! :DDD but we dind have sufficient time to shop there. or i will say, shopping is NEVER ENOUGH! =x

yupps. first week of school.
many things happened.
studies well, everything is going on fine.

i'm awfully tired and this is my 5th night? (i lost count) that i cant get to sleep.

i tink that's a beautiful answer!

this author actually prayed on the floor in her bathroom almost everynight!
cos she is really desperate for answers. of her life.
and everytime, she would say i need an answer desperately with tears on her face.
and she realise whenver she say god, please tell me what to do! abruptly, she ffinds that she's not crying anymore. instead of usual scenes where the devil and angels comes out, its more of true wisdom. true wisdom gives the only possible answer at any given moment.

i will sum up by saying, the conference is NOT FUN but Engaging.

but the next question is, how much have we absorbed.

learning hci myself, admire the asus speaker who had manage to evoke emotional aspect.

something that i did not learn i class.

and with that, i've realised that..

learning is really way beyond the four walls and a pretty/handsome lecturer.

how intelligent you are, is not by how well you perform in class (as in that's not enough).

it's not about how smart your parents are, that you've got it in your genes.

it's about you. how willing are you to learn.

and, next, are games all about reward system?

and. hoho! after every talk, there'll questions and answers.

i personally like this part as you get to hear different point of views.

and i must say that, in order to grow and learn, we need to consider people's view.

i must admit that i'm wrong, complaining about how bad volunteering in YOG can be.
i gotta thank dad for giving me the "I LOVE SINGAPORE! I LOVE YOG!" mindset.
and i tink by further motivating me, he even sacrifice his sleep for two saturdays to send me to Bishan Stadium. Not forgetting mummy, who had a hard time waking me up!

training wasn't that clear i gotta say. but afterall everything went pretty smoothly, with everyone's cooperation.
At first, honestly, i have fears of commiting mistakes. but.. dint really encounter any.
so, goodjob rina! haha! and of course the other volunteers! good job people! :D

i am thankful for this experience.
i've met many new friends. (though they're hi andbye. but they're nice friendly people!)
gained a deeper understanding of how Olympic events run, the tools for their scoring system.
and many many things.

though duty is around 1 hour plus, it's kinda tiring after the end of the event.
just imagine that 1 hour emo ride home. ):
how nice it would be to have that WOOD BLOCK that i can rest on.
but well, i'm an independent girl uh! :D

i get to record the scores for high-jump (2 shift), shot put, javelin and hammer.
though watching the competiton live is awesome, it may be tiring too. tiring in the sense of looking at people's disappointment.

i must say that i never like competitions.
its sad to witness competition. (to-me)
because its kinda mixed feelings.
it is super happy to see those who won.
it is terribly upsetting to see how hard they tried, and they do not achieve what they deserved.
it's reality lah. and. life.
no matter how i like it or not, we still need to face it.
arghs~

also, during the recording of scores, we need to be super focus and alert.
there may be other events happening at the same time. so the focus cannot be drifted away!
i must admit, i got drifted away some time. but of course i get back to track.

and, i needa stop whining on how stress my life is.
how stress poly work load is.
because, i think i have no right to complain.
looking at the atheletes, they are way more stressful than us.
so, there're loads of things to learn from them!
i admire their fighting spirit seriously.

anyway, i shall let the pictures take over.
as, its really hard to express how i felt over these great days.

Sad to say, today is the last lesson of design in culture.
I seriously honestly and truthfully will miss dinc!
though every lesson is alot of listening.

but this module had really set me thinking.
not in studies and grades mode but in perception of life.

well, perhaps, i've been really doing loads of thinking.
that's why i'm how i am today.
this module is indeed an enriching one, i must say.

it's all about observing and thinking. opening your eyes to see more things,
remember more things and appreciate more things.

i will add on by saying the last lesson, is the most saddening and trueful lesson.
it's on memories.
especially the video by tan pin pin.

the fragility of memories.
memories, cannot be brought with us forever and into our graveyards.
many people are trying hard to pen it down, spread it out for our future fellow peeps.
but, have we ever tried understanding deep in our hearts and appreciate it?
does it mean that if there are no archaelogist means that the history did not exist?

how hard have we tried to appreciate what we have and keeping our memories alive?

started a day great with my ham sandwich as breakfast.
dad fetched me to school and we talked.
he shared about some things mum shouldn't have done.
well, i did not comment much but just lend a pair of listening ears.
cos afterall, its adult matter. if i were to poke in, it wouldn't be fair to mum at the same time, causing things to be worst.

i feel tensed up.
at the same time, i'm thinking how i can squeeze time to help him with his work as during the weekends, he havent been doing alot of work.

i seriously have no idea what to do.
becos i feel that i'm not in a position to do any allocation.
i wanna help, but i'm helpless.
while paying full attention in class, mummy bombed me with tonnes of message.
talking about what dad told me in the morning.
i wanted to reply but every word i type may hurt or somewhat cause misunderstanding.
moreover, i'm paying attention in class! it's php for god sake.
i don't know how i can help.
for every msg mum sends me, my heart aches.
but all i can do was to sighh and continue listening in class.

today, i've already set a target for myself to complete some school work.

sean studies haven't been really good.
it's hard to monitor when i gotta toggle between school work and his work.

received my dlist award ceremony letter today.
